As the weeks and months pass by we accomplish so many things that we can’t remember it. Always late and running around hour after hour is our daily life. It’s so unusual for me these days to find time just to relax. Usually on weekends i still have some work to get ready before a new week starts. If not there is the minimun we have to do. Going to the market and buying plants and getting our hair cut and writing my posts and fixing something in the house and visiting friends and family and so on and on and on. But sometimes, just sometimes it is possible to do what i’m doing today. Mostly nothing. To stay like a baby in my bed really lazy with not a single thing on my mind (that’s overstated). Of couse too much time off can turn you into a permanently lazy person but we need this little time off so much we just realize it when we have it. I chance to recharge our batteries. It’s common for me to get a cold in days like this. That happens probably because the body lows my defenses. It gets lazy too. LOL. but the effect is amazing. I know next week i’ll start slower and my rhythm will grow during the week. That’s so much better than starting the week already jumping in other people’s throats hallucinating about the urgency of things and the amount of performance you are supposed to deliver. Talking about it in a day like this even makes me sleepy. So good week to all and enjoy the lazy days!!!

I heard many times before that i should live the present. I’m not sure the real reason people say that but i do have some ideas on this matter. Firstly the obvious idea: we live the present. We don’t live the past or the future instead we use past and future to project our selves. Projecting for the future helps creating it. More traditional people believe it to be called planning and strategy. More advanced ideas as the teories from quantum physicists support that you really create your future in your mind. The physical result is actually controlled by your mind’s projection of it. So you can project for the future as a benefit. But what about the past? This one should be easier to figure out because it is already there. It’s all written. Even so it can be more deceptive than the mysterious future. If you live your present according to your future you will be creating. If you live your present according to your past you will be stuck in it. The past is nothing more than a giant series of information coming from everywhere including our own journeys. When you look at it you start to use your memory. So far so good. It’s important to learn but we learn from mistakes and many times mistakes hurts us. So this information is not for free. It comes with a lot of things we don’t want or need to access. That’s where we create our defenses. That’s where we learn to fear. The big question is: How to get this information without the pain? People gotta be brave and take it? Even so the result is not that great. You learn to be afraid of heights but the feeling that comes with it can be as dangerous as heights depending on the situation. I’m using a simplistic example here. Think about other things we learn. We develop Karmas. We keep doing the same mistakes. That way we are repeating a projection for the past. The fat guy repeats his eating everyday. The dumb girl keeps choosing the wrong guys. We do to our kids the same things our parents did to us. The most creative we can be is to do the opposite. But getting free from this legacy and trying something new is something very uncommon. I think that’s nothing we can do about it. But i also think if we have this in mind we can do much more by trying. And the best way to try it is to focus on the present. Because life is in the present. The future is a possibility and the past is a big trap. I believe the present is a shadow of our souls. The past and the future are shadows of our present. Present= Life.

Who is afraid of the dark and why? I’m not sure where does it came from. Maybe it’s the stories our parents told us when we were children. Maybe it’s the fact that each sense really makes a difference. But if it is so do blind people have no fear of the dark? If not all that is it possible our fear of dark places have something to do with instinct? When i think about these questions i can’t stop but wondering how death plays a part in all this. Sometimes only the fear of the unknown that darkness represents or sometimes the feeling of separation from our loved ones. These both feelings have a strong relation to the fear of death. I also don’t know the method we use to overcome this fear when we grow up. I just keep wondering if the brain have some knowledge that is not conscient and more instinctive about things that could have happened before we were born or after we die even if we are talking about our life in the womb. I don’t know. The fact is: our fears are usually useful and they are like little alarms telling us where and what to avoid and they are built over knowledge. Maybe fear of the dark is something we let go really soon when we are kids and therefore we don’t remember the reasons for the fobia but they did exist eventually. Maybe it’s the horror movies and the old bedtime stories our moms would tell us. By the way who tell kids about ghosts and witches expecting they will be relaxed and happy to sleep alone at night in the dark of their rooms? But there’s a third explanation. Physicists uses to say we only retain in our brain and memory a small part of all we see. There’s much more but our mind is not able to process it so we can’t actually “see” everything our eyes look. That can happen when is bright or dark and maybe what our eyes register when is dark can’t be translated to our mind but it’s unsettling enough to start our defense mechanisms. To creepy? maybe. But it’s also intriguing to guess what we can look but not actually see. Good night! : )
