Hello void. Once this was a well taken care of blog. There were friends and lots of exchange. Until…life took over and i didn’t put any more effort in this great space. Enough. Still life is in command and still is midnight here so that’s why i have some spare time. The fact is that writing is the best way for me to communicate with myself and you void is the best listener. You don’t expect gain and you don’t judge violently as social media does. By the way how angry and bureaucratic live in social media is growing to be. We are moving from 6 to 600 degrees of separation because of it. Anything is a reason for you not to agree and when you don’t agree in social media you must retaliate. Trump is surely a post social media president. He wouldn’t survive the old days of letters and post cards. Not enough room for discontent. As a result of all this now we have computers as main interlocutors between human interactions. I’m not sure it’s a good idea for us humans. I guess for computers it’s ok. Some people say some day computers will take over anyways. In the meantime i wish to get back to a less rude form of digital interaction and the space is exactly it. Thanks void. I hope you get back being a populated space with friends and exchange. Good week to you…

I was reading another research showing the society’s degree of cleanliness is getting too high and deseases that never existed are becoming more and more normal as we get cleaner. I’m really in for the cleaning concept specially showers. I can’t go to sleep without it but it seams some bacteria we had before prevented our own body to produce deseases. Some of these deseases created by our own immune system. Not only in the medical field but in general life i believe everything need it’s own balance and in this really tech world we live today it’s getting more and more difficult to get our hands dirty. Some people give me the impression of not having contact with dirty in a while. Some people even give me the impression that sex can be too messy for them. The important thing is that life is messy and our bodies are really dirty things. There are many disgusting stuff we generate inside our bodies. What is really clean is death. Where there’s no life everything is aseptic. No germs which are also living things. So it bothers me to see i kid that never played outside. These modern kids raised by computers. It’s sad to learn they never saw an earthworm in their lives. It makes me wonder if the more you get away from dirt the more you get away from life.

Those of you who know Ray Kurzweil and his ideas already got the theme for this post. He is one of the most important minds from the computer era. He wrote the first patern recognition software when he was fifteen and played a piano song composed by this software  Invented the matching system to help students decide the best college when he was twenty. This was in 1968. From that time till now he invented text recognition to help the blind, the music sampler and his Kurzweil keyboard company, the speech recognition, AARON the software that was able to create poems with meaning. He is also a futurist and the author of many books about future tecnology. Needless to say he knows about computer science. In his books he make a lot of predictions based on his knowledge about the future of this field. A documentary will come up in february talking about him and hes ideas. There’s this idea that makes me struggle to accept though i know it’s not impossible at all. He has this theory that technology grows exponentially and doubles every year. So far he hes been totally right. Following this prediction the human leap that started with computers and today means internet and iphones and gps and nanobots performing surgeries in the future will represent the union of man and machine. Far away of believing man will become slave from machine he believes we will grow a technology sophisticated enough to better humans and expand our lives. Putting some predictions together: In 20 years computers will have the same capacity of the human brain and more importantly in 40 they will exceed this capacity millions of times. Computers are getting smaller and in 20 years they will be able to perform celular repairs and sustain a better use of our bodies. Medicine will in 20 years master the major corrections on living grown up human beings. Obesity, hair loss, heart failure, diabetes and cancer will be totally controllable. The sum of these and other predictions tells fantastic tales: Computers with the size of a neuron will life in our brains helps us control our own perception the way we prefer. We can get out of this reality and get into another one. We can be smarter and stronger and heal from the inside being able to live more than 120 years. Is cool to listen to the ideas of a person that understands the near future so much and is optimistic about it. So why my struggle to accept this? It is because it’s fantastic? I don’t think it’s fantastic at all. At same point it will happen but at the same time i remember Paul Sartre: “Hell is other people”. All of this is a prediction that follows one person. Let’s remember the case on other person that invented something good: Albert Einstein. His accomplishment is the theory of relativity but his legacy to the world is also all the possible uses from this idea so hes legacy is also the atomic bomb. The problem with the future of mankind is still and always will be mankind. What good will do this technology if only very powerful and rich people have the chance to use it? What will the world strong nation will do with robots that control the reality inside a man’s brain? Maybe we will have slaves all around third world working 24/7 juiced up by these machines and technologies thinking in their heads they are living in an eternal vacation full of joy and happiness. Maybe people starving in third world countries will beg to be one of these slaves to ease their suffering from lack of food and human care. Maybe that will only boost what we already have today. So the important thing is: When will someone like Mr. Kurzweil with so much intelligence will find a way to make the world a more equal place? Maybe before finding a way for humans to live more than 120 years old we should find a way to guarantee any human being to reach adult life.
