How delightful it was to see that my fellow bloggers enjoy film. It’s been almost twenty years now that me carrier is devoted to this media. Some say it’s an art but who works with it knows better. We can direct art because we direct writing and photography and fashion and architecture and music and on an on. That doesn’t makes us artists. Writers are artist and photographers are artists… we are the first lucky witnesses of those arts growing together in a media that can blend all those into one final result. Therefore we are craft men capable of taking writing from paper and putting it on screen with the help of all the arts that collaborate in cinema. Of course i’m talking about the first main idea of film. Autheurs are real artists and their work transcend direction. Fellini would be Fellini using other photographers and even without Nino Rota. Those write and direct and do almost everything they can in their films because they use all details in storytelling to be them selves as much as they can in front of the audience. In other hand Spielbergs are directors and what they do it’s not called art. That’s not less it’s just differente. Schindler’s list is a work of art? No. It is great filmmaking? Yes. The only thing it means is that moviemaking opens a window for artists but it was not designed as art. It’s an entertaining media. And a really powerful one. Those two hours in the dark theatre can take us many places and make our minds wonder in many different worlds and realities. I really love this craft since i was a child. Since Star Wars was playing and all i wanted to do is to be far away from this universe. That’s the power that always moved me to the movies. Great week to you guys!

thank you for this topic,
I will consider to write more about this subject;
everyone has some movies still remaining in the heart …
Great idea!!! Let’s talk movies!!!
on the one hand we could loose ourselves now to an encyclopedic target: making a list of the most important movies or film-directors.
but on the other hand I try to get forward on a road, describing, WHY a movie is important for our identity, emotions, plans, inner discussions.
Bonnie & Clyde, why we are trying to understand LOVE? the isolation of a couple? violence? hypnoticism?
Orfeo Negro, because it represents the easy Brazilian lifestyle – in the contrary to the capitalism of USA and Europe? The sound of a single samba guitar (Luiz Bonfa) in the contrary to marching military brass?
I love the idea of talking about movies… Lists or descriptions… Of course the second one is more rich and can add something extra to our knowledge…Cinema is still today one of the most important cultural events in our society. It’s the way the US sold their life style to all the world. It’s the was thinkers show their ideas to the general public. because it’s such a rich media with many arts collaborating is today one of the identities of our era. Thanks for the comment and the post about movies in your blog!!! : )
thank you for inspiring me to the little article
would be nice, if we could continue to discuss!

P.S.:
I would like to introduce on my daily blog:
it’s wonderful – a tribute to the easy mood feelings …
Thank you!!!!I love your post!!!
Let’s do it…talk about great films!!!
and of course you can introduce that video….
it’s my wife… i was a great day….
cheers!
Love Star Trek, just never could get into Star Wars – I know, I’m weird.
I love reading sci-fi and must read the Dune series again when I find time. Ringworld too.
You are not weird at all… Many say star wars is a boy’s film. I can understand it. That’s the subject to a future post. I heard this psychologist saying that if women knew half of what goes on men’s head probably breeding would end forever… Men have too much fantasy in their minds. Deep down inside they do believe they are superheroes… By the way i read Dune.. the first book… ano of the best science fiction books ever… but i didn’t read the rest…
Hello
I recommend “ikiru” in 1952 ; Kurosawa’s awesome movie
It’s an awesome movie indeed…O love Kurosawa … from “Donzoko” to the seven samurai and dreams… he is a real master of the craft!!!
I do think movies are often works of art. They are a vision belonging to everyone involved in its process. I just watched a film last night by Alejandro Amenabar and it was a beautiful and tragic experience.
Which of his movies? I just love his work!! Still it’s a craft and not art. Who wrote the story made art, the photographer made art, the actor made art. The director compile these different arts in a media. That doesn’t mean Movies don’t have art in it. Just that Making movies is not an art. : )
